Pennsylvania Federation of Music Clubs (PFMC), is a dedicated community of music enthusiasts committed to fostering musical excellence and education across the state. Since 1916, we have united musicians, educators, and students through a wide range of programs, competitions, and events. Our mission is to celebrate and elevate music in all its forms, while providing valuable opportunities for growth and recognition.
Our History
Founded in 1893 during the World’s Columbian Exposition and officially organized in 1898, the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC) has grown into the world’s largest philanthropic music organization. Recognized by the United States Congress and affiliated with the United Nations, NFMC supports American music and musicians through its extensive network of 6,000 related clubs and organizations. Members include a diverse group of musicians, educators, and music enthusiasts committed to enriching their communities with vibrant musical and cultural experiences.
Meet Our Officers
Leadership Team
President: Leading with vision and dedication, Kristin Ivers guides our organization with a commitment to fostering musical excellence and community engagement.
1st Vice President, Finance Chair, & Roster Editor: Overseeing our financial health and maintaining our membership records, Linda Flick ensures our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Recording Secretary: Responsible for documenting our meetings and organizational activities, Sue Roy keeps meticulous records to support our ongoing work.
Treasurer: Managing our financial resources, Linda Maurhoff ensures transparency and accountability in all monetary matters.
Membership Extension Chair: Working to expand and strengthen our membership base, Ruth Ann McChesney is dedicated to connecting with new members and supporting our existing community.
Michael J. Abraitis, III, Investment Officer, invests our funds, providing the award money given annually.
District Chairs
Northwest District Chair: Leading the Northwest region, Paula Kudelko oversees activities and initiatives in this area.
Philadelphia District Chair: Steering efforts in the Philadelphia region, Susan Stillo supports local clubs and events.
Pittsburgh District Chair: CURRENTLY VACANT
Northeast District Chair: Probiding leadership and support in the Northeast District, Suzanne Revak-Fedele focuses on fostering musical growth and engagement, as well as serving as , Keystone Salute Chair
Additional Roles
As State Festivals chair, Martha Heise communicates with and supports all the area Festivals chairs. She is a liason between NFMC and Festivals chairs with updated information from the NFMC Festival Chair. Martha also compiles results from the various area Festivals to pass along to NFMC.
Parliamentarian, Keystone Tribute Fund: Ensuring adherence to our bylaws and assisting in meetings, as well as managing the Keystone Tribute Fund, Pat Walter supports honoring our members and friends by means of the Keystone Tribute.
Chaplain: Providing spiritual support Barbara Murray plays a vital role in our focus on faith and leading us in our memorial services. Historian: By preserving our rich history and documenting significant events, Barbara Murray maintains our organizational legacy.Â
Council of Club Presidents Chair: Supporting our Senior Club Presidents, Charlene Hubbard encourages communication and opportunities to share insights and information for promoting clubs and the Federation.
